Confirmation

Confirmation is the preparation for a life-long journey of faith in Jesus Christ

What Is It?

Confirmation is the preparation for a life-long journey of faith in Jesus Christ.
Christians celebrate personal growth and the growth of a healthy Church community. They want new members to be equipped and empowered to take their place in the Church with responsibility and confidence.

As a candidate for Confirmation you need to be ‘ready with your own mouth and from your own heart to affirm your faith in Jesus Christ’. This is a whole Church community affair with the whole family being invited to share in the candidate’s decision, by promising to welcome ‘and uphold them in their life in Christ’.

What Should I Expect?

The Confirmation Service is led by the Bishop, who leads the candidates through the same promises made at their baptism – but this time the candidate is answering for themselves.

In the weeks leading up to the confirmation service, the candidate will attend special preparation classes with a member of the leadership team, where they will learn more about what it means to be a Christian and live a Christian life day-to-day.

What Comes Next?

If you are considering Confirmation, or just want to know a little bit more about it, then please make yourself known to our vicar, or one of the welcome team at church. Alternatively you can contact us.
